Half Moon Bay LSC has a proud history of competiting, at state, national and international level. We have a number of highly experienced coaches who design programs for athletes of all levels.
Competition at Half Moon Bay is a fun way to maintain skills and fitness. Opportunities are available to compete all year round and include competitions at the beach and swimming pool events.
Competition is available for those who wish to compete at an Elite level or for those who would like to participate for fun. Every member is encouraged to compete to whatever level they desire and is available for most age groups, both male and female. Senior members age groups are available from under 15 through to masters (30 years and over) and include a variety of disciplines such as:
Beach Competitions: are held on weekends during the summer months from December through to March. Competition is open to all age groups. Events include: surf skis, board paddling, beach sprinting, swimming, beach flags, surf boat rowing, distance running and rescue and resuscitation (R&R).
Pool Competitions: are held during the winter months from April to July. Competition is open to all age groups. Events include Obstacle swims, manikin carry, super lifesaver. line throw and team events.
Monday: 5.30pm board
Tuesday: 5.45am ski, 4:30pm ski & 5.45pm ski
Wednesday: 5.30pm iron
Thursday: 5.45am ski, 4:30pm ski & 5.45pm ski, 5.30pm board
Saturday: 6.45am ski
Members require a minimum qualification of the Bronze Medallion award and a minimum number of patrolling hours each season in order to qualify for competition at any level.
